Working Visit of the Kazakh Delegation to Kyrgyzstan

On 15–16 July 2026, the Association of Islamic Finance and Business (AIFB) organised a working visit of the Kazakh delegation to Bishkek.

The delegation included representatives of Kazakhstan’s financial regulator, Islamic and conventional banks, the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Islamic finance, fintech and IT companies, as well as consultants and industry experts.

The key event of the visit was a roundtable attended by representatives of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, banks, Islamic microfinance organisations, Islamic windows and Shariah experts.

The Kyrgyz participants shared their practical experience in developing Islamic finance. The Kazakh delegation learned how Islamic windows, Islamic microfinance organisations and takaful companies operate in the country, discussed the specifics of their regulation and received answers to a wide range of practical questions.

The Kazakh participants, in turn, provided an overview of the development of the industry in Kazakhstan and presented their projects and initiatives in Islamic finance, fintech, IT solutions and Shariah advisory.

The visit marked another step in the cooperation between AIFB and the Islamic Finance Association of the Kyrgyz Republic. The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Cooperation during the Islamic Finance and Business Forum in May 2026.

AIFB expresses its sincere appreciation to the Islamic Finance Association of the Kyrgyz Republic for the warm welcome, excellent organisation and open professional dialogue. The visit became another important step towards strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
